HOLIDAY DRIVE EXCEEDS GOAL BY 50%

("One Thousand Warm Hands" Drive A Success)

Radnor, PA – Even as many unwind from the holidays, nearly 1,500 needy hands will be celebrating being a bit warmer this year. Drawing to a close, the "One Thousand Warm Hands" glove and mitten drive has significantly exceeded goals. Sponsored by home builder Traditions of America, the drive was conducted at each of the company's Active Lifestyle communities throughout Pennsylvania, and even enlisted the help of some very dedicated first grade students.

Traditions of America corporate headquarters, located in Radnor, had agreed to match all donations made. Including this match, the goal was to donate a total of 1,000 mittens and gloves to charities throughout Pennsylvania. The company also invited the help of the first grade classes at Exton Elementary School, in an effort to spread the spirit of giving to even the youngest potential helpers.

Response was phenomenal at each community. "We're really touched that so many buyers visiting our communities expressed such generosity," says Traditions of America Principal, Timothy R. McCarthy. Current homeowners clearly dug deep, as well. "Our homeowners are blessed to be enjoying a beautiful new home, but their giving indicates that they are well aware that others are not so fortunate," reports McCarthy, "they've helped us exceed our goal by 50 percent."

In total, 1,500 gloves and mittens will be delivered to charities throughout Pennsylvania, just in time for the coldest weather. In the Philadelphia area, all donations will be given to St. Johns Hospice.
