J.B. Reilly and Timothy R. McCarthy are the two principals behind Traditions of America, and have a combined four decades of experience in the planning and construction of real estate developments. With strong backgrounds in community planning, residential design and financial planning, they bring an unusual combination of expertise to the planning and development of exceptional active adult communities.

After forming their development company in 1985, the partners focused on apartment complexes and historic renovations. The enormous success of those projects fueled the company's growth. Yet McCarthy and Reilly were acutely aware of an emerging need in the housing market - the need for residential communities designed specifically for people over 55 - people who are active, independent and longing to escape the burden of home maintenance. In 1997, the partners introduced the Traditions of America brand to exclusively serve the needs of today’s active adults.

In the ensuing years, Traditions of America has planned, developed and successfully marketed numerous active adult communities throughout the region. The company has twice doubled in size - a phenomenon that reflects the integrity of the product and the commitment of the builders.
